Compress Your Files

Files transferred via the internet should be compressed. Not only does this make file sizes smaller, it also protects the data while in transit.

 

Macintosh OS X:

To use the built-in compression utility, either:

  1. Control- (or right-) click on the folder, and select Compress "My Job" (or Create Archive of "My Job" in 10.4 or earlier) from the popup menu.
  2. With your folder selected, go to the File menu, select Compress "My Job" (or Create Archive of "My Job" in 10.4 or earlier).

 

A compressed file with the extension ".zip" will be created.

 

Windows:

If you do not have compression software, a number of options are available including:

Go to Uploads >
